Silicon Metal 421

Industrial silicon 421 is a product obtained by smelting silica and carbonaceous reducing agent in a mineral furnace, with the main component silicon element content of around 98% (including metallic silicon containing 99.99% Si). The remaining impurities include iron, aluminum, calcium, etc. Silicon metal 421 is one of the more common grades of silicon metal.

in the aluminum alloy industry, ferrosilicon is the most used silicon alloy, replacing pure aluminum in steelmaking to improve deoxidizer utilization and steel quality; in the chemical industry, it is used to produce silicone rubber, silicone resin, silicone oil, and other organosilicon products; in the photovoltaic and electronic industries, high-purity metallic silicon is used for making semiconductor devices, and modern large-scale integrated circuits are almost all made from high-purity metallic silicon.

In terms of application, Si 4210 has the highest demand, and Si 5530 is the most widely used.

• use 421 #, 411 #, 521 #, etc., higher requirements for aluminum content, generally below 0.2%.
• essentially the purification of silicon, there is no strict boundary requirements for the grade. By the beginning of the use of 421 #, 411 #, evolved to 421 # mainly, 521 #, 441 #, 553 #, 99 silicon as a supplement.
